I use Daemon Tools, works like a charm. Download and install it. If you have questions, make sure to read the help pages.

ok I downloaded daemon tools and its ready to go. Now I read the pages and I still dont really know what to do. I want to be able to play this game online multiplayer without using the optical dvd drive. Now what do i do first. I know i need to mount an unused drive letter. So i pick one and I need to search or find the files that i want to mount to that drive. This is where i get stuck. I dont know which files to mount, and I dont know where to find them. If there is anybody who can help I would appreciate it

You have to create an image of your DVDs. Check the Deamon tools help section for recommended tools and tipps.

I read through the instructions, and I still dont know what files to mount to make this thing go. I browse to the drive with the cd in it that I want to make a virtual drive. I open up that drive which happens to be the D drive with Starcraft in it. But which files to I want to copy over to the virtual drive. I really dont understand what to do and the help didnt help very much. They figure on the user being much smarter than I. Is there anybody that can break this down easier for me to digest. Thank you. And also, 2 files from the daemon tools were infected, and yes I downloaded it from their website. I guess I need to remove these files, but im sure the program wont run right afterwards.

Download Alcohol 120% trial and follow the instructions.
You should select to read subchannels and skip errors. This creates a large mds-file, mount this with daemon.
However, due to copy protection, your image may not work correctly.

I have alcohol 120. What do I need to do with the burning software? Am i just making a 1 to 1 copy of the original disc. You are skipping alot of steps or assuming I know more than I do. Wow I didnt think using virtual cd was this hard. All I want to do is speed up the game for online play and I have heard this will do it.

1. Insert theCD/DVD
2. Start Alcohol
3. Create an image by using the Image Making Wizard. Remember where you save the file.
4. Start Daemon Tools
5. Mount the created *.mds file.

I skipped the steps "turn on computer" and "login"

I didnt know what alcohol had to do with daemon tools, but I think i got it working right now. The process is going and its gonna take a few minutes. Ill let you know how it goes from here.
