Fn + F4 not working

#1 Post by AlphaKilo470 » Fri Jul 21, 2006 12:44 am

I've seen several posts about similar issues but not one hint of a working answer so I figure I'll post myself in hopes of a working answer.

Fn+F3 and Fn+F4 quit working on my 600E after I swapped hard drives with a larger one that already had XP on it. This same install of XP also refuses to recognize Fn+f3 and f4 on my A21m as well so it's definitley not hardware related (in related news, the previous hard drive is in the A21m and it's function keys work now). Does anyone know where to fix this? I've tried re-installing IBM software to no avail.

This might not help, but you may try.

I have a similar problem on my X40. For some reason, Fn+f3 does not work. I tried to reinstall IBM software and it does not work.

Finally, I uninstall and reinstall the keyboard (Notice: I mean disable the hardware, not reinstall anysoftware) through device management and I have that function back.

Check too that you have power management installed. This driver is needed to enable support for Fn+F3, F4.

Uninstalling and reinstalling the Power Manager and the Power Management Driver solved my problem when the Fn+F3, Fn+F4 shortcuts didn't work for me.

Bump.

I have the same problem with Fn+F4. It does nothing.
edit: btw, Fn+F3 works as intended.
All needed drivers are installed and Standby mode works if I use if from windows Shut Down -> Stand by
