FireFox 0.9.3 - ultranav scroll pointer flickers

#1 Post by K. Eng » Thu Aug 12, 2004 10:49 pm

If I'm in a FireFox window and I'm scrolling using the blue scroll key, I notice that my cursor flickers alternately between the standard white Windows cursor and the scrollbar+Windows cursor.

Does anyone know of a fix for this?

Hmm.. indeed it flickers! Does not disturb me too much as long as it scrolls normally.

On current "T" models (like my T42), there is a blue button that is part of the TrackPoint (pointing stick). When you click the button, then the stick becomes a "scroll wheel" of sorts. Usually, the mouse pointer becomes a small vertical scroll bar when you click the blue button, but in the FireFox browser, this doesn't work quite right. Scrolling works fine, but the mouse pointer flickers.

There is another TP/Firefox scroll thread:

.... not that there is anything to do about this but wait.
I'm just not sure if I'm waiting for Firefox or IBM (Synaptics?) to fix this for us ... :?

Leon, do you mean that you can scroll a dropdown menu using Firefox and the trackpoint center scroll button? The center scroll wheel works on my mouse and dropdown menu's on Firefox, just not the trackpoint.
For example, that main dropdown menu at www.crucial.com ?
If so, perhaps you could help us out. As far as I can tell, no one has the ability to use the TP/center scroll for the dropdowns or for horizontal scrolling.
