Software Installer Downloaded Files Clean Up

#1 Post by Legionnaire » Tue Aug 01, 2006 9:04 am

Hi.

I have recently noticed that my IBMTOOLS folder is 1,47GB and my DRIVERS folder is abou 47MB. I understand that these folders contain drivers and software updates for the Thinkpad Utilities. I also believe that they are installation packages that are no longer necessary. Is that true?

Is there a safe way to clean them up?

Yup

Get rid of *everything* except the two text files in the DRIVERS folder, that is just a download and extraction point staging area for the Software Installer; those two text files contain the package info about what was downloaded when and how+it was installed. :)

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.
