heeelp! all my folders are read-only

hi there,

as said in subject all my folders became suddenly read-only, have no idea why, yes i am logged in as administrator!

realised when utorrent couldnt write anymore, though i can save on desktop with no pb, but any other folder cant write.

i change the attribute with right click, properties, or using attrib -r and still no use

any ideas?!

Assuming you are using XP, you might check your security settings.

You will need to untick "Use simple file sharing" from Windows explorer, Tools (on menu bar), Folder options (from drop down box), View (Tab). Scroll down and untick "Use simple file sharing" from the selectins available, click ok.

Then,

Find C: drive in Win Explorer (Folder view), right click on it and select properties. Select Security tab and make sure you have full Admin User rights to the drive. If you are unsure about what you are doing in there, don't touch anything as you could make things worse. Administrators should have full permissions for the drive. ie. all listed boxes ticked (except special permissions)
