Check Windows' after HD upgrade

#1 Post by manixc » Tue Aug 15, 2006 12:32 am

Hi all,

I just upgrade the HD in my T42. By cloning the old drive to the new one, and swap it.

I got a BSOD with a error about wpsdrvnt.sys but after I booted into safe mode, the error disappears.

Is there a way to check to see if the Windows install is still intact? or nothing is broken?

Thanks,
Michael

Sounds like Windows doesn't like something with the way the newer HDD interfaces with the T42; you might want to have Windows redetect and install the correct driver settings whilst in Safe Mode just to be sure. :)

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.

after I restart in safe mode, the error disappear (touch wood). I also ran check disk after that, and see no problem.

I will check the driver when I get home tonight.
thanks.
