Just found this forum the other day. Thanks to Bill for allowing me to join. I've poked around through the forums but didn't find what I was looking for. When I attempt to uninstall IBM Rapid Restore Ultra 4.0 from Add/Remove Programs: msiexec.exe spikes to 99% and stays there until I shutdown/reboot the laptop (usually forcibly by a hard power down). Canceling the uninstall or attempting to kill the process (or process tree) does nothing. I don't think it's a matter of time; I've left the uninstall running over night w/the same results. I've done chkdsk /r before attempting the uninstall as well as after every forced shutdown. Has anyone here seen this, or even know a friend of a friend who's seen this?
