Acrobat 7 Pro and TP x60s - HELP please

#1 Post by jamess » Mon Sep 04, 2006 11:12 am

This is very odd but since i still can't figure why and mostly HOW i can fix the following issue, i am addressing this question to this superb forum.

I have same Acrobat 7.0 Pro installed on both thinkpad and desktop comptuer. Networking between the two PCs is working fine with all files/folder EXCEPT with

PDF files made with Adobe Acrobat Pro 7 from within MS Office Word (e.g.: word document into PDF). I can not use my syncronisation software nor any other means of transferring this files to the other PC. I also cannot print it over the network.

Does anyone know what should i fix (special security settings, where? within Acrobat) to have this working. Seems that i can only make PDFs from Word but can not distribute them in any way. Quite annoying.

Thanks for your help!

I use same program and dont have the issues you are having. Are you creating PDF's from protected material? Not sure, but maybe yu should direct this one at ADOBE. Sorry.

Hey!

I am not using it within protected material. I create my own word doc. and i want to make it PDF. Do that and it can be opened, viewed, but when it comes to network printing, sharing or even local copying- it says "Access Denied". I use the same program on my desktop PC without problems... but i guess it can't be that the ibm's are causing problems :)

I will try updating all the latest patches, maybe that will solve the problem.

Cheers

Check your permission settings for Acrobat. If you're creating pdf documents from within Word by clicking on the Acrobat toolbar icon, then try this:

In Word, go to "Adobe PDF" > "Change Conversion Settings". Click on the "Security" tab in the resultant dialog box. Make sure that you don't have any restrictive permissions set.

@k0lo: thanks, but i've tried that a dozen times. there are no security settings set, no restrictions... Still no luck :( Very annoying indeed.

thanks for trying though
