making iso image from usb device ?

#1 Post by sir_nerdalot » Wed Sep 27, 2006 6:53 am

I made a usb memory stick bootable with ghost and got it to work perfectly on my thinkpad, but now I want to create a .iso image of the usb stick so I can have a backup of it and use it for other sticks. Is there any software that is capable of doing this and then also burning that .iso back onto the stick?

any help appreciated folks
:)

As long as you have hidden files and folders visible, you can save everything off of your usb stick. But you'll still have to make the other usb stick bootable before you drag the saved files to it.
The only way (or the easiest way) I could find to make a usb flash drive bootable was the HP utility.

Sir Nerd, keep searching....

I came across a little program that would make an ISO from a bootable USB drive, which you could then use to clone to other USB drives. But I deleted it by mistake, and have not been able to find it with intensive googling (it would help if I could remember the name!)

So . . . it does exist . . . out there . . . somewhere.
