T30/40 Can you re-partition, format, run XP only?

I like to keep things simple. Have had several IBM desktops preconfigured with what I consider bloatware and have always successfully FDISK'd to a single partition, reformatted and installed an OS and only those apps I choose to run.

Can I do this with the T-Series laptops using XP Pro or are there IBM apps REQUIRED to allow key laptop functions to operate?

none required.... search this and the T42 Forums for those recommended...

Thanks Leon. I have seen a number of them recommended but will have to investigatge what each does. I assume most laptop or support utilities are available on IBM's Support site for download.
