Adding SP2 to the rescue partition?

#1 Post by gtphill » Mon Oct 02, 2006 1:40 pm

Hello again!

Got my clone to work, today, with Acronis. They have just made a new customer, much nicer product than Ghost!

Anyways. Is there anyway I can push SP2 into the rescue partition, so i don't have to download it should I need to factory reset the laptop again?

More generally, could I push updated drivers, etc. into the rescue partition for a more updated factory reset?

Thanks!
Phil G

I think you could do that, but I'm no 100% sure if it'll work.
It involves modifying the I386 folder, if in any case exists on the IBM_Service partition.

I don't have the answer to your original question, but you can download SP2 and store it on a CD for installation later.
