hotmail attach via right click issue

#1 Post by allen » Thu Oct 12, 2006 12:21 pm

hey, one of the best things that keeps me on pc's, xp, and hotmail, as a photographer, is being able to right click a file and hit send in an email, and it attaches the file, and then i can drag and drop a large batch of other files to attach as well. as opposed to browsing and attaching files one by one.

my problem lately is, and i'm not sure if it's due to that recent virus, or if it's a change in upgrading to SP2.

what happens now is, the file name is temporarily changed to have a ^ right after the file extension, like from photo.jpg to photo.jpg^

and then after it's attached it becomes a read-only file...

this definetly did not used to happen before that virus, and before i switched to sp2

any thoughts/ideas?

thanks!

I have not used hotmail for ages. I hate hotmail.

That said, I think the virus might be the culprit. Have you thoroughly cleaned out the machine?

I would also recommend you use Gmail. Gmail offers larger capacity and is capable to send large attachment. Plus, you also use the pop3 feature of gmail.

To convert from Hotmail to gmail is also easy. You can set up to forward all emails to gmail. You will also be able to send email in Gmail as if it is sent out from Hotmail.
