I was having some problems on my thinkpad R60 when booting. To solve the problem I wanted to remove something from the ATI software but unfortunately all ATI software was removed.
I also removed something else wich solved my problem.
Now I got another problem.
I reinstalled the ATI drivers (downloaded from lenovo site) and rebooted. Windows xp told me "new hardware found" and it installed the driver a second time (I had a dvd with the folders DRIVERS, IBMSHARE and IBMTOOLS in the drive, made that backup a few days ago) on I think another place. (one in IBM folder, other in program files/Ati. I also installed hydravision from the Ati site.
The problem now is that when I move a window, it feels like moving a window on a PIII, it's extremely slow. I don't ecspect it to be the cause of the double driver install. (had the problem before the second install)
Also scrolling in browser (both Firefox and Internet Explorer) goes extremely slow.
As far as I can remember, when I went to remove Ati software using windows software removal tool, there was next to hydravision and ati drivers another Ati software wich was around 200MB in size. I first thought it was maybe Catalyst, but my ati card (X1400) isn't in the list and the download seems quiet small.
[EDIT]
I was able to solve my problem by simply running setup from my C:\DRIVERS\WIN\VIDEO folder, wich also installed Catalyst. (I still don't understand how it's possible that I looked over that
PS: topic may be deleted from me.
