Vista on T60 and hot docking problems

I have had Vista installed on a T60 195143U for some time now. I was on Beta 2 and then RC1. The system works fine. I can start the T60 on the enhanced dock, drive both external monitor and TP screen (extended desktop), I can un-dock the TP, go to meetings but when I try to hotdock the TP, it shuts down (powers off) With XP, I can dock and undock all day long but there is something with the Vista setup that stops docking from working properly... any clues?

I guess this is not a Vista specific problem with a T60... it is a problem even with XP.
