How can I remove from the desktop the "my computer", "my network places", "internet explorer", "my bluetooth places" icons, without endangering or risking any of their associated functions?
I just want them listed/available to open under the program files or displayed on the bottom shortcut toolbar (this latter is easy) -- I need a clean desktop.
Thanks!

You can turn on and off the display of all icons by right clicking the desktop, going to Arrange Icons By, and unchecking Display Icons.

If you want to remove the bluetooth or any of those icons for that matter use Windows Powertoys, Tweak UI download it from the Microsoft Website.
Tweak UI You want the one not for itanium systems.
