Recovery log and issue during recovery

#1 Post by emts » Thu Nov 09, 2006 3:53 pm

Hello,

I had to recover my primary volume with RR3 on a Thinkpad R51e. When RR finished its work then booted the machine and I reached the main XP login screen. Then I did not login just clicked on Shutdown.

Then I could see an error message that RR could not write/overwrite encrypted files and I can check this issue in RR log file.

Where is this log file? Also, did anybody experience the same issue? I am concerned, although I could login to the system next time (but loading the profile took ages after I successfully typed my pwd).

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Best regards,

Sandor

Hello,

I try to answer my question:

1.) You can find these log files in C:\SWSHARE. Their extension is .log so you can check what happened there.

2.) You must login to Windows after the system is automatically rebooted from your system restore.
I did not login then just shutted down the computer and it caused the issue.

Next time I logged in and found in log files that RR could restore my personal files (but again, I had to login).

Regards,

Sandor
