Making Recovery CD's without CD's

#1 Post by robh » Mon Nov 20, 2006 10:03 am

I just received my T60, and had a Vista RTM disc that I was itching to throw on the computer. It was too late to go out and buy a bunch of CD's, so I scoured the net and found what I was looking for:

A virtual CD drive program that lets you burn to a virtual CD. Most programs let you mount ISOs but this one allows you to make them. This worked great with the IBM recovery disc utility.

I made the 1 R&R CD, plus a DVD image. Then I transfered them to another computer as ISO's and was free to install Vista without worry!

The demo works well enough for our purpose.
