Hi All,
I'm a newbie here in this forum but i already search this topic in this forum and many others and found no answer so i would really appreciate your help.
I found that there is a folder in my C drive named SWSHARE that keeps consuming space.
It recently reached 4.9 Giga (!!!), and i have no idea what is it used for.
It has variouse folders like CD1-CD12 and some files in.
So - i renamed it and rebooted to see if smth goes wrong... and no. it simply re-created it and now it takes just few mage's i can live with.
Since my T43 does not allow to burn recovery discs (some bug IBM here could not solve) they already sent me a complete recovery CD set with everything i need on it (never tried it so far).
could someone please explain what is this folder used for, what is all the data that was there and what will happend if i delete it? are there any more folders like this (i know what th I386 is for...) that i can safely remove?
thanks, Shai.
SWSHARE - What is it good for?

I actually found that post before,
but it still did not answer my questions:
Can i delete it safely?
What created it?
Why is it that large?!
thanks for all your help, Shai.

Welcome to the Thinkpad Forum
Can you post some of the filenames that you found within the folders? It does sound like it is for RnR, but I don't have it. Take a look at the "Date Modified" property for them and whether or not they are read-only/hidden.
To test to see if they are safe to remove, you could make a copy of them and backup your system, delete the originals under SWSHARE, then reboot and see if there are any programs that choke when they see the files gone. If there are, move them back.
