How do I tell which version of Java is installed?

#1 Post by XCoalMiner » Sun Sep 05, 2004 9:50 am

I've looked in the Software Installer/Version Information, but there's nothing listed. I'm using the Win Xp preloaded on a T41, no SP2 (yet).

I've also searched for java.exe, and I have eight matches, ... they're in different folders C:\windows\system32, C:\IBMTOOLS\updater\jre\bin, and under C:\program\files, I have five in various folders.

How do I know which one executes ... inside a browser (IE and or FireFox), and when I run a java application I'm about to download?

If the Windows Java from Sun is installed, there is a Java applet in Control Panel. Run that and check the version. ... JDHurst
