ATI Radeon GPUs DirectX Version Support

Hi All,

Does anyone know the DirectX Version support for different versions of ATI Radeon GPU used in Thinkpad?

Radeon 7500, Radeon 9000, Radeon 9200, Radeon 9600 ...etc.

I need to evaluate some notebooks for the office for the use of DirectX 9.x in the conference server and I am looking at the Thinkpad T series.

7000/7500/FireGL 7800: DirectX 7
9000/9200/FireGL 9000: DirectX 8.1
9600/9700/9800/X600/FireGL T2: DirectX 9.0

So how comes that my T40P rocks with CALL OF DUTY which requires DirectX 9 hardware? I have a Fire GL 9000. My friends onboard ATI 9100 sucks big time with this game.

the 9100 ist based on an older chipset... i don´t know why they called it 9100 instead of 8500+
