Access Connections Vista Version
Access Connections Vista Version
Has anyone had problems installing the Access Connections (Beta) from:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... TVAN-EAPAC
After installing, I get a pop up following reboot that says Access Connections is not supported on this platform. I am running RC1 on a T43.
Elements of Access Connections do install including a tray icon that partially work...but the full Access Connections that I am used is not there. Furthermore, when you attempt to start it from the Program Menu, I get a "...not supported" pop-up.

It does say on that page above:
System requirements
Microsoft Windows Vista RTM build
This would lead me to believe that it likely will not work with any beta versions of Vista. It seems some important changes were made in RTM. For instance the Sierra Wireless 3G Watcher program worked fine in the other beta releases but did not work in RTM. I know Sierra Wireless is working on this. Whether they have released a new version yet, I have not bothered to find out.
BTW, you do not need the URL tags for just posting a link. However they are very useful for shortening overly long links by exchanging text for the actual url in what is displayed. Format: [url=http://www.yoursitehere.com]This is what I want displayed[/url] FYI, I checked "Disable BBCode in this post" so that you could see the format.

Access Connections on Z61m

I installed AC on my T60 with vista ultimate rtm and had no such issues. The only drawbacks are that vista takes longer to start than without AC. Actually i don't think that i will need AC on my vista install so it will get uninstalled.
I have Access Connections installed and running on my Z61m and have not encountered any issues with it. However, I agree with arni that it does definitely slow down Vista startup significantly! Actually, seems like most of the ThinkVantage software has a negative impact on startup speed
Actually i wouldn't do it cause AC, at this moment, won't benefit you in any way on vista.
Still it's lacking most of the advanced settings for wlan access security as vpn support. The only benefit to me was that it can change your default printer and set your browser settings according to your network connection.

Re: Access Connections Vista Version
to get it to work, you need to download and install the "system interface driver" located on the AC download page (here: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... TVAN-EAPAC )hkelley wrote:Has anyone had problems installing the Access Connections (Beta) from:
