T43/Windows Vista Bluetooth software
T43/Windows Vista Bluetooth software
Hi all,
I am finding that the Microsoft Bluetooth software is not able to pick up the correct bluetooth services associated with my bluetooth devices. This has always been the case on XP and installing the proper IBM bluetooth software resolves the issue.
Does anyone know if there is a beta release of the bluetooth software?
Thanks.

You can try what has worked for some other drivers. You may need to uninstall the Microsoft Bluetooth Drivers first (I am not sure). If you do uninstall the Microsoft Bluetooth Drivers, reboot and cancel any Found Hardware wizard (I am assuming the same behavior as XP). Download the Bluetooth drivers for XP from the T43 driver matrix page. Run the program to extract the files. If possible, exit the installation program right after the files are extracted to the hard drive. Go to Device Manager and choose to update the driver. Tell the wizard to look where the above files were extracted, to install the driver.

Unfortunately I haven't had any luck. The driver installed is actually IBM specific so I don't think thats the issue. The issue is you need the full blown bluetooth software to get extra features (services) that the MS based bluetooth software simply does not seem to incorporate. I had the exact same issues on Windows XP and installing the official IBM bluetooth software resolved it completely. The funny thing is I'm trying to sync my IPAQ with Vista via bluetooth, both ends are MS based software yet it does not work correctly.
I am just going to have to wait for Lenovo to release all the official T series Vista based software and drivers. I suspect nothing will be available until or after Jan 30.
