Hmm... although I'm quite a Poirot, when it comes to 'unknown' processes, but I have never heard of this one, and Google doesn't know it too.

Can you track it down with Process Explorer and check (by clicking on the process and looking at the info at the pane below) the Registry keys to see where it resides?

In case you don't have it, here's the download link for Process Explorer

I did a Google search when I first saw this post the other day but I did not come up with anything definitive. The information following is basically what I found.

I find this Chinese user with that handle: gzsnd
Here is a thread gzsnd posted to: Input Excel Skills

And this: "Matt McCracken" <mmccra2858@hotmail.com> wrote in message
news:gZsNd.31333$kP3.29322@fe06.lga...

All this is really beyond my ken, but it kind of makes me wonder if you somehow got hacked or infected with a trojan/worm/virus/etc. The fact that gzsnd is linked to a chinese website seems a little alarming.

I did the same and also didn't find anything useful... I just repeated the search and found this:

1/4/2007 11:34:00 AM Dobyns-Bennett 116 bjohnson LENOVO-A026F7D9 63638DU GzSndExePath C:\Program Files\Gunze\GZTP_Pack\GzSnd.exe Details Remote

(Note the "Lenovo" and "Gunze" designations)

It's a cached result from a spyware monitoring program at:

Perhaps it's something to do with this?

I did some search after Bill's OP, but came up empty-handed and decided to watch here, in case someone would find a solution...

I usually don't like using emoticons, I'm old school ASCII.
But, Ray...

Do I win something?

Just luck that when I googled the term 'gzsnd.exe' yesterday I hit an entry that was cached. What really caught my eye was the Lenovo and the '63638DU'. 6363-8DU is the type number for an X60 tablet :) .

It really just goes to show that Google can find almost anything!

Scary, isn't it. The data they are most industriously collecting and archiving. I am not afraid of Microsoft anymore. I have a more powerful beast.

Oh, and you won my respect. Once more. Though it is not cashable (but I am working at getting filthy rich, I'll let the board know). :-)
