Latest ATI drivers fix things

#1 Post by dandiep » Tue Jan 16, 2007 12:29 am

I've been trying to get a PCI express card working in my advanced dock to no avail, but I have learned a thing or two along the way. Namely, if you're running the latest ATI drivers on your Lenovo T60 things seem to run better. For instance I've noted the following areas are much improved:

1. External DVI display - with the Lenovo drivers or standard Vista drivers it would often ignore my external display and not display anything. It now picks up my external display correctly, even if it does mess up the resolution sometimes and not let it set my external display as the primary monitor when the laptop is open.

2. Verizon card - I noticed that with the drivers posted on this board they would only work for a little while before stalling. Things seem to go much better with the latest ATI driver installed.

3. Resume from sleep. With the old drivers my wireless would stop working every now and then. Things seem better now that I've upgrade ATI drivers.

Of course this wasn't based on any scientific study, but has anyone experienced similar things?

The latest ATI driver can be found here:

Hope that helps someone!

Unfortunately these cannot be installed under the "p" models of the t60 b/c stupid ATI didn't add the FireGL cards to the .ini config list.

When I installed Vista it brought down an ATI driver from Windows Update - version 8.31.100.321, dated 8/24/2006. Are the drivers you mention above newer or are they the same version (I can't install them, I guess because I have a T60p).
