T42 graphics drivers (ATI Radeon 7500 Mobility)

#1 Post by luku » Sun Jan 21, 2007 7:58 am

I've installed Vista and all the drivers I could find on the beta page at Lenovo, but I'm stuck at getting the graphics card up and running.

I've seen various "hacks" where you use a windows xp driver and these do work, to some extent.
With the Omega driver I get a bluescreen when shutting down, and if I use the one from Lenovo's site, I get a bluescreen when trying to do anything that involves 3D accelleration.

Does anyone have a link to a driver or knows where I can get one that will work with Vista ?

I have the Radeon 9000 on my T42, and I used the driver supplied with Vista (RC1). That driver appears to work fine although I don't have S-Video out support, and some of the other advanced features of the XP driver. You might go to Windows Vista Update and see if any new ATI drivers appear.

There's nothing there. During Beta I could get the driver from windows update, but I can't do that any more.

The latest version of Vista that I have is RC1, so I have no experience with version RTM. I am not ready to upgrade to Vista RTM on my T42. $$$

i have the same problem, the mobility 7500 is not good supported for Vista. I am working with the XP drivers now in Vista and even though they are better than the standard vista drivers i feel a better version of the drivers should do a better work. unfortunately amd has stopped support for our graphics card. this is a shame as the card is not too old.
