RecordNow and WinDVD on Vista?

#1 Post by extrain » Thu Jan 25, 2007 10:37 am

I tried to install RecordNow and WinDVD on my machine but got a error message saying that it was not a qualified thinkpad machine. I guess it is because the OS. I'm wondering if we can download these software for Vista from Lenovo website.
Thanks.

Whether either will work or not with Vista, I cannot say. But what you download from Lenovo's site is only an upgrade. You have to have the program installed for the upgrade to work. Look in the C:\IBMTOOLS\APPS\ directory for the appropriate folder of both program's installation files. This is the directory they are in for the T42. I am not sure about the T6x and Z6x series, but they probably have a similar directory structure. I am unsure from you post if this is what you have already tried.

Yes, these files are located under IBMTOOL directory. I installed WinDVD successfully from there. But I got the error message "Setup has determined that your configuration does not support any of the included products." when I was trying to install RecordNow.
