Battery Gauge Program.

#1 Post by BoomAM » Sat Jan 27, 2007 3:09 pm

Hi.
Im having a few problems with the IBM battery gauge program.
If i double click on the battery icon shown on the taskbar, it opens the program, but doesnt show any profiles at all. And if i try to create a new one, it lets me go though the process, but doesnt save?
Also, if i try to access the profiles through the productivity center, it says: 'You are not authorised to display the panel for selecting a power scheme'. If i press ok, it brings me to the profile selection menu, but again, there are no profiles there at all. (It also moves the mouse pointer to the bottom right of the screen when i click 'ok').

Whats going on?

Thanks in advance all. :)

It sounds like you are logged in as a limited user. You need to have administrative privileges to see and change certain settings.
Microsoft Surface 3 (Atom x7-Z8700 / 4GB / 128GB / LTE)
Dell OptiPlex 9010 SFF (Core i3-3220 / 8GB / 8TB); HP 8300 Elite minitower (Core i7-3770 / 16GB / 9.25TB)
Acer T272HUL; Crossover 404K; Dell 3008WFP, U2715H, U2711, P2416D; Monoprice 10734; QNIX QHD2410R; Seiki Pro SM40UNP

Hmmm, I don't know then. I encounter the problems you have only when I am in a limited account. Hopefully others can help you.

Ive managed to download and install it.
The error messages have gone away, but all the profiles bar a presentation one have gone, and it still wont let me create new ones?

Ideas?

Hmm. It appears you are correct about the permissions thing.
Ive gone to a backup login account i have, and power manager works normally there.
I set my main account to limited, rebooted, then back to administrator, but still, no difference. It appears to be something in IBM software that isnt reading my main account as an administrator anymore.

Ideas?

@BoomAM

Which model ThinkPad do you have; i.e. T42, T60, Z60m, etc.
