T60p - Standby won't work in Vista

#1 Post by brucewilsonpa » Mon Jan 29, 2007 1:34 pm

When I first installed Vista, standby seemed to work OK. But lately I've not been able to get it to startup from standby -- just keeps cycling HDD with blank screen (mouse pointer appears). If I press off switch it momentarily brings up logon screen but then disappears. I have to shutdown computer with off switch, then turn it back on. I can't think of any software I've installed that would interfere, but I have installed several new Lenovo drivers.

Anybody else have this problem -- any suggestions?

Thanks!

this sounds like the same issue I was having with XP which required a post-SP2 hotfix.

try unplugging the power cable and doing standby. Word from Microsoft is that ATI's drivers suck at the moment and don't shut down properly.

I had this problem. You can type your password on the blank screen and you'll be back up or you can roll back the ati driver to the previous version and all will be well. Hope this helps.
