T60 Bios Update

#1 Post by Xavier75 » Sat Feb 03, 2007 5:56 pm

Hi,

I've just bought a T60p and installed Vista Business on it.

I'd like to update the Bios, but the utilities for the bios update on Vista have not been released yet.
Has someone managed to find a way to update the bios on Vista?

yes and its easy.
you make a bootable cd, they give you the info for it. all you have to do is download the iso and build the boot cd. if you can't build the boot cd under vista just do it on any pc with burning software

There aren't a lot of ISO burners that work on Vista right now, but this one does and is free. So far it has worked great for me:

I ran the XP BIOS update (http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-63024) with run as admin and it worked well on my T60.

according to the info bios direct updates don't work on vista because there is no thinkpad configuration utilty yet for vista. if you are running xp or you have the xp version you might get away with it, otherwise, like me you have to go around things to get it to work.
