rescue and recovery

#1 Post by cerb » Mon Feb 05, 2007 4:18 am

hi,

i recently installed vista on my 1704-6DG. everything went fine - except CSS. it depends on rescue and recovery which does not install. i have rescue and recovery installed from windows xp (version 3 i think). and i cannot remove that - some weird http-like error-message appears about some database not responding?!

and installation of RNR4 always breaks due to some files (bmgr32.exe, spmtr.exe and some others) not being found - even though it unpacked the whole thing. also missing is a tvttarget.exe.

did someone succeed in installing RNR4 and how?

best regards,
cerb

supplemental:

now (after doing nothing else than x-times before) ist started the installation and did not complain about missing files - but i have a new phenomenon:

after several minutes of frozen progress bar (at approx. 80%) a command-window appeared and did some stuff which was immediately followed by a blue screen caused by ntfs.sys?!

since the laptop is big in swapping since vista i believe it was too much? any ideas?

I installed it without any problems. did you do a clean install?
