TPFanControl on R52 (Vista)

#1 Post by amwus » Mon Feb 05, 2007 2:43 pm

Hello all ! I'm new here, i come from belgium. Please forgive me for my bad english, i don't practice so much :) !

So, here is my problem. I recently tried to install windows vista on my Thinkpad R52 (1846-3WG). So, everything is well, but tpfancontrol does not seems to work... it tells me that "winio.sys" is missing in the application folder. But actually, this file is in the right folder. So is it normal ? How could i use this marvellous soft in windows vista ? This is a problem for me...

Other problem, or perhaps is it normal... in xp, i can run the computer on battery for about 3h15... in vista, only 2h25-30... is it normal ? How could i long the battery life ?

Thank you very much for you answers !

Best regards,

Eyh, are you even watching the tpfancontrol-thread?

The developer has helped me a lot with getting it to work right with vista..
The easiest now is to run V0.18 in application mode (no service).
Make a shortcut and right-click, select run as administrator.
