Vista Ultimate Full version or Upgrade version?

Hi Guys,

I've got two T42 KA4 thinkpad which I bought 2 years ago, and I was thinking of upgrading our windows XP to windows Vista.

If $$ is not an issue, which version is better? Should I use the upgrade version and upgrade my XP to Vista? Or is it possible for me to do a clean wipe off my XP and install a brand new version of Windows Vista Ultimate? Will I face any major problems if I do that?

Also, I went to google "vista radeon mobility 9600" and found many websites that listed the graphic card under the list of graphic cards compatible with windows vista, and Aero. However, there are also some IBM users here who are experiencing problem with AERO when they are using vista radeon mobility 9600.

The confusing information provided by Lenovo on their support website is not helping either.

Symptom
Some Windows Vista features like Windows Aero, Live taskbar thumbnails, Windows Flip and Flip 3D, Transient Multi-Monitor Manager, and Hybrid Sleep are available on the systems that support Window Display Driver Model (WDDM), a new graphic driver model for video cards running Microsoft Windows Vista. Such features with WDDM are not available on the systems that do not support WDDM graphics as listed below.


Affected configurations
Any of the following systems that support WDDM graphics and running Windows Vista:
ThinkPad G50
ThinkPad R50p, R51e, R52 (with ATI graphics only, or with Machine Type: 1846, 1847, 1848, 1849, 1850, 1870), R60, R60e
ThinkPad T41p, T42 (with ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 graphics only), T42p, T43 (with ATI graphics only, or with Machine Type: 2668, 2669, 2678, 2679, 2686, 2687), T43p, T60, T60p
ThinkPad X60, X60s, X60 Tablet
ThinkPad Z60m (with ATI graphics only), Z61e, Z61m, Z61p, Z61t
3000 C200, N100, V100


So any one installed? Any comments?
