Re: vmware
VMWare player 1.0.3 runs just fine. Did not tried it with wi-fi, though. I run "host only" and bridged with wired lan.amwus wrote:Has somebody tried to run a virtual machine under vista ? You may look athttp://www.iexbeta.com/wiki/index.php/W ... Virtual_PC to find out which versions are compatible.
Actually, i tried vmware workstation 6 beta about two weeks ago, and in my virtual network settings, i didnt see my network connection... In xp, i can choose a physical connection to bridge to vmnet0, but in vista, it didn't work... i used the default vista drivers for the lan and wifi connection, not the lenovo drivers...

I only use the default Vista drivers too, so I doubt it's that.
Do you have some kind of firewall installed that might be blocking outbound connections?
When you go into the Network and Sharing Center, do you see the "Local Area Connection 2" and 3? These are the VMWare virtual network cards.
I've never touched them, but they should both be enabled.
