instant messengers?

#1 Post by systemgeek » Wed Feb 07, 2007 2:05 pm

this might not be the right forum, but i am having problems getting any aim compat instant messenger running. I have tried trillian, miranda, and aol. None of them seem to make the connection. I have tried messing with the firewall, to no avail. Trillian shows me as connected but no contacts show and I dont show online to other users. I have tried running it as admin and xp compat, still nothing. I am running Vista Ultimate on a T-60P 2623-D8U. Any hints or help would be appreciated.

I installed AIM 6.0 via the AIM Ad Hack and it worked fine in Vista besides a few glitches occasionally. What version of AIM did you install?

I have no idea then, I had no problems with AIM 6.1 or whatever the latest version was at the time. I didn't even have to do anything special to get it going, it just installed and worked without incident.
