Windows Vista >> Really Cheap
Searching for Windows Vista Business on froogle and I get versions as cheap as $50 for Microsoft Open Licensing, OEMs are about $120. What is going on?? Is there any catch to it?
Check out this Microsoft Acad Licensing: http://www.pcsuperstore.com/products/K9 ... l/froogle/
Somebody please tell me whats going on...

Yeah, there is a catch. You have to prove you are one of the institutions on the list before you can buy. This deal is not available to the general public. Our local library has been taking advantage of thes deals for years now.

I have heard of techsoup. One of the things I like about charity (not for profit) licensing is that the license is full and not OEM. So if there is an issue, Microsoft will support it where they won't support OEM, and won't support all techsoup stuff (depending on where it came from). The not for profit pricing is so low nobody blinks. But thanks for the post - it is most definitely a good idea to look there.
