T42 no audio with vista

Any ideas why? No sound at all. The driver "Intel 92901DB/DBM AC 97 Audio Controller" is installed, and there's nothing new at Lenovo.

Everything worked fine before!

Also, the dedicated volume buttons, mute button, and "Access IBM" button no longer work. Any ideas how to fix that?

Install the Lenovo System Interface driver (and possibly, the hotkey driver)

The volume and mute buttons are a hardware mixer feature. The computer doesn't even need to be made aware of them. If they aren't working, something is deefinitely up.

oh wait.. I bet they are working, but you can't tell because for whatever reason you have no sound at all.

I have a T42 with Vista RC1 installed. I have the same Audio Driver. What resources is yours using? Mine is using the following and the sound works fine:

I/O Range - 1C00-1CFF
I/O Range - 18C0-18FF
Memory Range - C0000C00-C0000DFF
Memory Range - C0000800-C00008FF
IRQ - 0x0000000B (11)
