need help! changing language

#1 Post by dorin » Wed Feb 21, 2007 9:15 am

hello,

so, it was a very nice promotion, and i got myself a backup laptop, acer. but it is in german...bleah!

how can i covnert the language to english? i downloaded mui, but the main interface must be in english, so doesnt work.

i was thinking if i follow the instructions given in the how to install fresh copy if xp[/url] by replacing the i386 folder with the one on the acer, will the result be a german or english version?

does anyone has any recovery cd for acer?

thanks,

dorin

AFAIK that won't work. You'd need to install the whole OS.
I understand some PCs in Switzerland are supplied with multi-lingual disks
My brother-in-law in Embrach just bought a new HP desktop with 4 XP/pro disks in 4 languages! Apparently XP is very cheap now, with Vista on the market.

Shame on you for becoming 'unfaithful' to the Thinkpad! :(

brand new 250usd for a celeron 1.7 60gb and 512ram...

it was a very good deal given the fact that will be used only for downloads

the only nice thing it has is the lcd, 15 wide with glossy lcd, but in rest its screaming "cheap"...flexing, squeeking, and of course no trackpoint!

no way i will go away from the light (tp) but this acer will replace an ancient hp p2 with the loudest and slowest hdd in the world...

the recovery cd i got was only in german...
