Documents and Settings question?

#1 Post by robertmartin » Fri Mar 02, 2007 7:01 pm

Hello all,
Simple right? I would like to change the name of one of the folders inside my Documents and Settings folder. There is an Administrator, All Users and a folder with my name. I would like to change the one with my name beside it. Is this possible?

Thanks,
Robert

I just tried it on my R40, and an error popped up telling me that it was a system file, and that you cannot change it.

I even tried another route, by going into the Control Panel and then into Users, and tried changing my user name there. It changed my User name for the system, but the folder in question name remained the same.

Ray has the right links -- those do work. We did that sometime in the distant past when we had to rename users ...

download tweakui from microsoft. the software has a special folders part where u can change names and locations. or u can do it via registry. use the program first don't go and change the names like that cause a lot of programs rely on the document location to function properly
