One of the reasons why I can never user another computer again is the 3rd (middle) mouse button. I use it all the time to scroll through documents and pull down menus.
Now, since I installed Vista, the scroll function works in IE7 and Explorer windows but not in Office 2007 and other applications or for pulldown menus on web pages. In Outlook 2007 I can scroll through my inbox but I cannot scroll the message text. My external scroll mouse works fine though and allows me to do so, so I don't think it a Vista feature.
Does anybody have Office 2007 installed and the 3rd mouse button working there? I'm using the ThinkPad UltraNav Driver 9.1.3 (7IGX09WW) if this matters.
Thanks,
Dirk
3rd mouse button doesn't work in some applications
This has been reported before in other threads. Try changing the scrolling from "Standard" to "Auto-select". This can be done on the Advanced tab in UltraNav Wizard. I believe this can also be set from the Mouse icon in Contol Panel (I do not have Vista loaded at the moment to verify). Note with "Auto-select" that the scrolling behavior will go to "Smooth" style when "Standard" does not work. This behavior is different. Personally I do not like it very much, but I guess it's better than nothing.
