Vista Widescreen t60P test model (no dvd/cd software?)

#1 Post by johnp126 » Thu Mar 08, 2007 1:20 pm

I was hoping to test those softwares on vista to see what was best. i have my own 1600x1200 std size t60p with vista. Anyone have recommendations as to what's best and does anyone know if lenovo is going to install something on a future build or are they waiting for the current providers to make their software vista compatible?

CD and DVD software

#3 Post by johnp126 » Fri Mar 09, 2007 11:15 am

I wrote it in the subject.
Current XP builds contain RECORD NOW for burning data / music / iSO files etc.
Have intervideo windvd creator and player under XP.

I have a demo of a t61p widescreen with vista but it has none of that software. the device matrices pages only list them for XP.

Also missing is thinkpad configurator software.

Sorry I wasn't clear, i put the info in the subject line.
Also anyone know if they are worth purchasing or do you use something better and have a suggestion

There are no free downloads for the software you are looking for. If you have a ThinkPad with the C:\IBMTOOLS\APPS\ directory, you can find those programs in it's subdirectories. AFAIK a Vista version of ThinkPad Configuration is not available at this time.

Try out these free tools which run on Vista:

For audio CDs:

http://www.burrrn.net

For .ISO files:

http://www.imgburn.com/

For data:

Vista has that built in.
