Windows 2000 password

#1 Post by Stargate199 » Fri Mar 16, 2007 9:31 am

Someone has asked me to fix the problem with Windows 2000 and how it asks you to change your password every 45 days, or whatever that number is. Does anybody know how to change Win 2000 to not ask to change your password. I am assuming it is a registry hack.
I have finally rejoined the dark side.

I think that you should be able to do this w/o resorting to a registry hack. Try:

- launch Users and Passwords in the Control Panel
- click the Advanced tab
- click the Advanced button in the Advanced User Management section
- click the Users folder
- in the right pane, right-click the name of the account
- click Properties
- in the General tab, check the box "Password never expires"
- click Apply and Close buttons
