Power notification doesn't work

#1 Post by tballx » Sat Mar 17, 2007 10:28 am

User the latest power manager, I receive no notifications when power is low. Anyone else have this issue and were you able to fix it?

I'm having this issue as well but haven't had much time to look into it. When my power gets low, my computer just hibernates without warning at all.

... but I also can't even get sleep working on my T42 in Vista.. it'll supposedly go to sleep, I look at the closed thinkpad and the sleep led is on, but I'll go pull it out of my bag 4-5 hours later and it's ROASTING hot, open it up and yeah the sleep light was on but the battery light was green too.. power light off though, but the fan running and clearly the processor chugging away at something.

Everything worked so nicely in XP, but I can't give up now, I'm too invested into Vista. Lenovo needs to get on the ball and fix all sorts of driver and software issues with their ThinkVantage stuff..

I'm having my own problem with power management. I set up a custom profile, but it won't initially detect when the system is plugged in. I have to unplug and plug it back in for it to recognize that it's on AC power. Irritating.

Vista is going to be a great OS, but it's just not there yet. I think it will be soon, though.

Unfortunately, I agree. It would just be too much trouble to roll back to XP at this point but these little broken features are really irritating.
