I have a problem with my home wired network. I use a Linksys BEFSX41 router with a Linksys BEFCMU10 cable modem. The network has a A20p, A30p, T60p each running Win XP Pro, and a OLD IBM Aptiva with NASLite – SMB as a NAS server. The problem is, with the Aptiva and NASLite running as a server, the cable modem is locked out, and I have no Internet service. I can shut down the Aptiva, and the Internet is back. Where have I gone wrong??

Out of my head I'd say you plugged the cables in the wrong ports.
The modem cable goes into the WAN-port or Internet port or whatever they call it.
All others use a LAN-port, incl. that NAS.
Check that you did not install IIS or have a shared connection between 2 PCs/laptops.

carbon_unit, you were right..my routers DHCP range was set to 192.168.1.100 and the number of addresses is 50. So I changed the Aptiva to 192.168.1.200, and all is working…may thanks…
