Hi everyone
First post here for me.
I've got a 1-year old R52 Thinkpad which came pre-installed with XP pro SP2 (no Windows installation CD)and i would like to reinstall Windows using a slipstreamed CD.
I've read through quite a number of posts on the subject on this forum ("How To Fresh Install Win XP) as well as on forums (the Elder Geek, Support PCs) and want to find out if there is a single definitive guide on the subject as UCI_Mech's guide is no longer available online.
Also, when it comes to the 70-odd post-SP2 patches (not including IE7 and WMP11), is it possible to add these to the slipstreamed CD? If so, how is this done? I've looked around my directory and my SP2 patches seem to be stored in the C:\WINDOWS\system32\CatRoot\{F750E6C3-38EE-11D1-85E5-00C04FC295EE} folder of my hard drive.
Would appreciate any help on this.

Slipstreaming Win XP Pro SP2 For R52
The best information I have is contained in the links of the following two posts. I remember reading how to add post SP2 patches, but I am not sure where. It may be in one of the links below.

Yes, this is possible to include patched into your install CD. Google a program called "N-Lite". This program will allow to include patches, service packs and make several mods to change the default install settings for Windows XP. I did use this, but for some reason my disk didn't work right, but lots of people use this program without a problem. Must of been some error that caused my install CD to fail.
I have finally rejoined the dark side.

Thanks for all the replies everyone.
Looks like I've got a number of options as far as building a slipstreamed XP Pro CD, namely:
1. Using the UBCD method
2. Using the Nlite method
3. Using the AutoStreamer method
4. Any of the 3-4 alternative ways of doing this.
Will give it a shot this weekend and see how it works out.
