WinXP file sharing within multiple workgroups

#1 Post by jamess » Sun Apr 01, 2007 11:43 am

I would be very grateful if anyone has a suggestion how to fix the following.

Here's the situation I have PDF --> please see PDF layour for best clarification

text form:
I have broadband connection
router
hub
three different winXP workgroups within one network (alltogether 7 users)

The question is -- how to configure the network in such a way that users in different workgroups WON'T be able to see other WG's shared files/folders.

E.g.:
WG 1: shared folder : test
WG 2: shared folder: dumb
WG 3: shared folder: ion

user from WG1 must not see folder/files in WG2 etc.

Any help would be much appreciated.

i think you'll need to create a network drive with the files in it that you want certain members to have access to, apply permissions for them to view and others not to have access and map the drive to the PC's you want to have access to those folders.
