Battery charge thresholds ignored

#1 Post by iatacs19 » Mon Apr 02, 2007 8:19 am

I just noticed this, I have my thresholds set at 80% and 100%.

No matter what I do it just keeps charging to 100%.

Any ideas?

i encountered the same problem. i don't exactly remember what i did to solve it (sorry, i've been fiddling with vista and reinstalling it a lot).

i know the problem has to do with windows vista mobility center doing its own thing. you should be able to get the Thinkpad Power Manager to work in tandem with Vista. try running system update to see if there are any additional power drivers or anything like that.

also... check and see if under the Vista Power Center, there are links to the Thinkpad Power Manager on the left panel, and if it lists the Thinkpad Power Profiles under the "additional power profiles" list. That would give you an idea to see if Vista is aware of Thinkpad Power Center.

Also, maybe try reinstalling the Power Manager?

Sorry there's no concrete help. I really don't exactly remember what I did to fix it.

u have to plug it in only when u have booted into windows... plugging in when the laptop is off or booting will charge it to 100%

Is this a new Vista requirement? In XP it would not charge until it dropped to the set threshold.
