Clean installing vista im new to this help!!!

#1 Post by coz007 » Tue Apr 03, 2007 8:09 am

Hey guys Im new to this whole vista situation so I thought Id ask your advice before proceeding.

Ive read online about how to do the clean install trick and that seems pretty easy. I also know that once that's done i need to download the system update and allow that to download my programs and drivers. The question I have is I have an Atheros abgn wireless card. When the vista download is complete will vista be able to recoginize my abgn card right away so I can get online to do the system update? I just want to be able to get online right way. Has anyone had experience with this? What are the recommendations?

Heres the part number if it helps

No, you have to install a driver for the card. You can either goto the Lenovo website to download the driver, or it also comes through windows update. If you don't have a wired connection you can plug into, download the driver before you install Vista and store it on a USB drive or something like that.

So I download the driver onto a usb and run the setup after vista is downloaded? Once I run the setup I should be ok?

Yeah. Run the wireless drivers setup after you install vista, and it should work.
