Reinstalling Vista

#1 Post by chaukap » Thu Apr 12, 2007 11:47 am

I currently have Vista 32-bit and Win XP in dual boot config. I would like to replace the Vista 32-bit with a 64-bit version which needs a clean install.

1. Can I simply overwrite on the current Vista partition or do I need to format it.
2. If I do format it, any special attention needed for the MBR ?

Thanks,

Finally took the dive and installed 64-bit.

YES can overwrite but overwriting the installation left some old folders on my drive undeleted which I was able to delete manually without any problems.
