Dual authentication on Vista (psswd + fingerprint).

#1 Post by Carlos E. Sanchez MD » Tue Apr 17, 2007 9:29 am

Is there a way to set up Vista to allow dual-authentication, using the password AND a fingerprint for logon? Thanks so much in advance...

thats what it does, if you set up a password you can login using the fingerprint swipe OR the password.

Hi. Thanks for your reply. I was wondering if it was possible to set dual authentication, ie swipe your finger then enter the password. Thanks!

Yes, it's possible.

Go to Client Security Solution and set the "More secure" logon method.

Take note that "More convenient" only set-up the finger, the more secure set-up both, or you can set-up a custom way.

Go to:
ThinkVantage -> Client Security Solution -> Advanced -> Manage Security Policies -> Log on to Windows -> Use a custom security policy for this user action -> Edit custom policy.

There you set both check boxes.

Enjoy.
