Installation folders on c:\ with T60p and WinXp

#1 Post by PoZZyX » Thu Apr 19, 2007 11:59 am

Hello,

When I reinstall my computer with the IBM recovery... I have many IBM folders on my harddisk on the C:\ root.

I want to know if I can delete these folders :
C:\IBMTOOLS (==> apps, drivers, osfixes)
C:\SUPPORT (==> TOOLS)
C:\SWTOOLS (==> TPM)
C:\SystemUpdate (==> dirperrmissions.exe, uts.exe)
C:\VALUEADD (==> 3RDPARTY, MSFT, ...)
C:\DRIVERS (AUDIO, MODEM, ...)
C:\I386 (ASMS, COMPDATA,...)
C:\IBMSHARE (... LOG)

These folders use 2go of my harddisk, can I delete them ?

Thanks for you help !!!

You should be able to delete them because those files were put onto the hard drive for Windows to use when it was installed. I would keep the driver and tools folders. I386 is all of the install files and is usually used for a restore function, but that should be on the hidden recovery partition.
I have finally rejoined the dark side.
